4 Easy Cinco de Mayo Punch Recipes

Cinco de Mayo (5th May, we know you know, just in case), the popular Mexican holiday is generally more celebrated on the opposite side of the Atlantic. However, we’re always on hand to give you an excuse to get your cocktail on. Read on for these delicious punch recipes that you can whip up in minutes.

Paloma Punch

Combine the following in a large punch bowl

  • One 700ml bottle of quality tequila (make sure the bottle says “100% blue agave”, that’s the good stuff)
  • Juice of 5 squeezed limes (pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds and allow to cool first, trust us)
  • 6 x 330ml cans of San Pellegrino Sparkling Grapefruit (available from Waitrose)
  • Fill with ice
    • Garnish the bowl with some pink grapefruit and lime wheels for decoration and extra flavour

Cherry Nectar

Combine the following in a large punch bowl

  • One 700ml bottle of reposado tequila (pop and see the chaps at Sommelier Wine on St. George’s Esplanade)
  • Juice of 6 squeezed lemons (as previous, get them in the microwave)
  • 150ml of pure agave nectar
  • 20 dashes of Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters (available from Bucktrouts)
    • Garnish the bowl with some cherries for a nice finishing touch
A La Perchoine

A La Perchoine

Absolutely not Mexican in any way shape or form, but it’s one of ours, so you know it’ll be top notch. Get this stuff in a big bowl and enjoy.

  • One 700ml bottle of Blue Bottle Artisan Guernsey Gin
  • 150ml of Campari
  • 250ml of Passionfruit Purée (available from Bucktrouts)
  • Juice of 8 squeezed lemons
  • 150ml of Hibiscus Syrup (Amazon.co.uk)
  • 20 dashes of Fee Brothers Orange Bitters (available from Bucktrouts)
    • Garnish the bowl with some dried hibiscus flowers (use sparingly) and a few lemon wheels

Guava Mangorita

You’ll need to run this through a blender before popping this in your punch bowl.

  • One 750ml bottle of Waitrose Apple & Guava Juice
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of Madagascar Bourbon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 600g of mango chunks (make sure you freeze them first as this will chill your punch right down)
  • Juice of 6 squeezed limes
  • 400ml of quality tequila (make sure the bottle says “100% blue agave”, that’s the good stuff)
  • 300ml of Cointreau
    • Garnish the bowl with lime and orange wheels
